Procedure Steps
Make a phone call and arrange a visit to our laboratory in order to discuss with our scientific personnel and receive answers to all your stem cells related questions.
After signing the contract you shall receive a collection kit, with your own internationally unique bar code. Detailed instructions are also included in the kit.
Upon arrival to the clinic for labor, give the kit to your doctor. LIAISON will have already informed him of the procedure that needs to be followed.
Blood collection will take place after labor completion. The collection procedure is simple, painless and lasts only a few minutes. At least 60 ml of cord blood is required, so that the cell count will also be adequate.
The collected blood unit along with the sample forms is put back in the kit. Please contact LIAISON immediately and an associate will receive the sample from the clinic as soon as possible.
As soon as the sample reaches our lab, quality assessment takes place (Sample volume, viability check and contamination tests). After quality control, samples are being processed and rate freezed using our specialized medical equipment. Our umbilical cord blood samples are being stored in 2-spaced-cryobags in liquid nitrogen tanks (-180° C) under continuous monitoring (Cryoview software).
A certificate is being issued at the end of the procedure. Your barcode, cell counts and a short review of the protocols followed are included. In the future LIAISON will notify you of anything new concerning research on stem cells and our staff is always willing to help you with anuthing you might need.
